The payroll module was designed to handle hourly, salary, and commissioned employees. The system can also handle employees who work based on other quantifiable work units. For example the number of kilometers a driver drives, or the number of sales calls that a salesman makes.
The system is programmed to calculate the statutory deductions of income tax, Canada pension plan, and employment insurance deductions according to the manual that Revenue Canada distributes called Payroll Deductions Formulas for Computer Programs. These deduction formulas are updated each January 1st and often on each July 1st.
We help our clients to customize the payroll package to calculate the deductions and taxable benefits specific to each client. The formulas for these deductions and taxable benefits can be a simple has a number that a user enters, or it can can be as complex as an optional life deduction based on the volume that the employee has selected, age, sex, and smoker/nonsmokers rates.
We can also program electronic funds transfer to most banks. You can and choose either to give a cheque directly to an employee or transfer the amount directly into the bank account that they have provided for you.
The system also produces annual T4 statements for each employee.
The system is also integrated with the general ledger module. Any amounts payable to the receiver General, insurance companies, savings accounts, or any other deductions are automatically posted to the general ledger.
